Is Harry Styles Next To Join The List Of Celeb Problem Gamblers?

Gambling problems

It’s no secret that young pop artists today are a great source of sensational news media coverage. With every young singer or performer today being watched by the world, it’s no surprise that the pressure gets to some of them. While some American celebrities such as Lindsey Lohan and Amanda Bynes have been watched for drug addiction and others such as Miley Cyrus and Canada’s Justin Bieber have been scrutinized for some questionable actions, Britain’s own group of pop sensations, One Direction, might be the next young stars to unravel. While fame doesn’t seem to be getting to some of the boys, a couple band members – and in particularly Harry Styles – seem to be getting wrapped up in the world of gambling.

For a young man in today’s society, a great deal of money paired with a high profile reputation can mean a lot of things. It can mean access to the best clubs and parties, a powerful ability to persuade people to do what you want them to, and a lot of reckless decisions. During the past year Harry seems to have fallen into the trap of throwing his money about in less-than-tactful manners at casinos.

The first incident during which the young star from the group that brought the world popular hits such as What Makes You Beautiful took place in February of last year at a casino in Las Vegas. Styles, along with bandmates Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, and Niall Horan, decided to celebrate their success with a night out at casinos during their tour of the United States. The teenagers, all just over the legal age to gamble, were promptly told off by their manager. For most of the band members, this seemed to be the end of their frivolous gambling ways, but that wasn’t the case for Styles.

It wasn’t more than a few months before he was at it again. This time in Australia (this past September), Styles again had some pretty major losses after spending the night in a casino. The 19 year old, once again, faced a chewing out from his manager as well as disappointment from his bandmates and fans. The question now is, will this trend continue on to become a bigger problem, or is this simply a wild phase attributable to the follies of his youth? Only time will tell.
